AI is no longer a future concept in dentistry. It AI is no longer a future concept in dentistry. It is already changing how we diagnose, treatment plan, communicate, and build better patient experiences. I recently had the opportunity to speak with world-renowned educator and medical leader Dr. Allen S Lycka about the intersection of dentistry, business, leadership, and artificial intelligence in healthcare. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8YfAv_FWJts&t=103s In this conversation, I shared lessons from my journey practicing across more than 300 dental offices, building a practice, earning an MBA, and working with professionals globally through the Global Summits Institute. A few key points we discussed: AI can help dentists improve diagnostics, treatment planning, patient education, and operational efficiency — but it must be used responsibly. A successful practice cannot be built on profit alone. Long-term growth comes from trust, consistency, leadership, and patient-first care. Dentists need more than clinical skill. Business knowledge, team leadership, communication, and resilience are essential to building a sustainable practice. The future of dentistry will be shaped by those who combine technology with ethics, compassion, and sound clinical judgment.
